Subject : Application for the post of sales assistant

Dear Sir,

This is in response to your advertisement in THE TIMES OF INDIA dated 27th August - 2013. I am a student of the Mahatma Gandhi College. I would like to apply for the post mentioned in the advertisement.

I am studying in the final year in this well-known college. Our timings are from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This leaves me with the whole afternoon free to do some other work. I am doing quite well academically and do not go for any tuition classes. My daily study and homework takes about one hour, so I am free from around 3:00 p.m.

Apart from having the time for the work, I believe, I have the attitude and capability for the job. I am quite an outgoing kind of boy and have the ability to make friends easily. I can convince people to listen to me. Hence, I believe I have the right qualities for the job. My father’s business is not doing too well now. Therefore I would like to help him by earning some money for the family.

I have attached copies of my last report card and a recommendation letter from my class teacher and my Principal. I have also attached a letter from my father saying that he has no objection to my working in your company.

The job you have advertised seems to be perfectly fitted for me. I hope you will grant me a personal interview at the earliest.

Yours faithfully,

Karan Trivedi
