Catenative is a Latin terms which means CHAIN. As the name means, this verb will be followed by abother verb.

1. He asked me to come to his room.

Here the verb ASK is a catenative verb. That verb ASK is followed by another verb COME.

1. He wanted to eat.
2. They liked to go to Chennai.
3. She preferred trekking.
4. Donot let go of by chair.

In the above sentences, WANTED, LIKED, PREFERRED and LET are coming under this category of verbs.
