HELLO and HI

HELLO and HI are informal and very common with young people.

HI is more informal.

Good morning…..(said up to 12 noon or lunchtime)

Good afternoon….(said from 12 noon or lunchtime to about 6 p.m.)

Good evening….(said from about 6 p.m. onwards).

GOOD MORNING, GOOD AFTERNOON & GOOD EVENING are formal and may be used to greet elder.

Saying MORNING, AFTERNOON & EVENING are less formal.

Do not say GOOD NIGHT in the meeting.

GOOD NIGHT is used on parting in the evening or night.

You should say GOOD EVENING though you meet a friend late in the night.
