Subject : Request for leave to attend brother’s wedding

Dear Madam,

I am Kavita Kamik, studying in class 9. I would like to apply for leave from 7th August - 2013 to 16th August - 2013. My elder brother is getting married and I would like to attend all the festivities connected with the wedding.

My elder brother resides in America and this was the only time that he could get off from his job. His fiance also lives in America and she too is working. Hence the dates cannot be changed. This wedding is a very happy occasion that all of us have been looking forward to for a long time. Therefore I would like to apply for leave for the period mentioned above.

I know this is quite close to the exams. But I assure you that I shall make up for the classes that I will miss during my absence. I am quite regular in my work and have got good grades consistently all these years. I have been made the monitor of my class quite often in all these years - which shows that I am a girl who is responsible. You can thus rely on me to get all the notes and to study all the material that I will miss.

I hope you will keep my past record in mind and grant me the leave. My family and I will be always grateful to you.

Yours faithfully,

Kavita Karnik
